Presentation of the Erasmus+ project ‘JENUPAE’

Because peace is cultivated through knowledge and encounters, MIJE is launching JENUPAE, an Erasmus+ project aimed at digitising the Europe of Peace game. This project will give rise to a new interactive and collaborative digital tool: an educational game about European citizenship, designed for young people aged 15 and over.. Through fun missions, immersive scenarios and citizen debates, players will discover the history, institutions and values of Europe.

The origins of the project: MIJE's commitment to peace
For more than 65 years, MIJE (Maisons Internationales de la Jeunesse et des Étudiants) has been working to open young people’s minds to the world and promote understanding between peoples.
Founded in the aftermath of the Second World War, the MIJE remains committed to a united and supportive Europe through its educational trips and teaching tools.
An Erasmus+ project to develop an educational game with impact
The JENUPAE – Digital Game for a Peaceful Europe – is an initiative funded by Erasmus+, jointly led by MIJE in France and STANDO in Cyprus.
It aims to transform the card game ‘Peace in Euope, developed in collaboration with Editions Valorémis, into an interactive digital game, designed as a modern and inclusive educational tool.
It aims to transform the Europe de la Paix card game into an interactive digital game, designed as a modern and inclusive educational tool.
The future game will enable young people to revisit the major events and figures of European history, discover the role and functioning of European institutions, and experience civic dilemmas illustrating the values of tolerance, solidarity and democracy.

A human and inclusive adventure
Designed for a diverse audience — secondary school pupils, apprentices, young people supported by integration organisations — JENUPAE aims to make European education accessible to all.
The future game will offer scenarios highlighting cultural diversity, social inclusion and peaceful conflict resolution.

A combination of European expertise
The project brings together two complementary partners:
- MIJE, a recognised public interest association and expert in educational mobility, supporting young people in Europe.
- STANDO, a Cypriot organisation specialising in the design of digital educational content, user experience and gamification.
Together, they are designing an innovative European learning tool that is both fun and meaningful.

An approach faithful to the MIJE's mission
With JENUPAE, the MIJE is extending its mission:
“TO OPEN UP NEW HORIZONS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH EDUCATIONAL TRAVEL,
TO HELP THEM FLOURISH AND THUS BUILD A MORE JUST AND SOLIDARITY-BASED WORLD”
The project embodies the vision of open, responsible and inclusive educational mobility, faithful to the brand promise:
To offer education stakeholders the best support to make every project a successful experience for young people.
A 24-month project
The JENUPAE project runs from September 2025 to August 2027, with six main stages:
At the end of the project, the digital game ‘Peace in Europe’ will be tested in several schools in France and Cyprus before being made freely available on the MIJE website. The aim is to create a sustainable educational tool that promotes peace, democracy and European cooperation.
