Free time for lunch. Thematic visit to the Arab World Institute to assess the intentions of the architects and identify references to the Arab-Islamic civilization. Evening meal at the MIJE refectory. Free time to discover the new Republic Square, resolutely in line with the 21st century. Accommodation.
Breakfast. Departure from the Port de l’Arsenal to the Bastille for a commented cruise from ‘Old Paris’ to Parc de la Villette. Picnic lunch at Parc de la Villette. Unaccompanied visit of the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, followed by a session at the Géode (reopening) or the Planetarium. Evening meal at the MIJE refectory and accommodation.
Breakfast. Guided visit around the BNF district with its flagship building, the François Mitterand national library. Free time to discover Bercy Village and its shops, accessed via metro line n°14 (Meteor) or n°6 (aerial metro overlooking the headquarters of Le Monde newspaper, the whole of Paris’s left bank, the Japan Maison de la Culture, the Ministry of Economy…). Cafeteria lunch at Beaubourg. Guided visit starting on the forecourt of the Pompidou Centre and finishing at the renovated Forum des Halles with its glass roof. Departure.
