What does MIJE mean ?

MIJE stands for Maisons Internationales de la Jeunesse et des Etudiants. It is an association created in 1958. MIJE organises educational trips in France and abroad and welcomes school groups and individuals travellers to their 3 hostels in Paris.

What are the hostels like ?

The 3 hostels are former aristocratic residences (17th century) and are situated in the heart of Paris, in the historic Marais quarter, near Notre-Dame.

How do I get to the hostels ?

-FOURCY : 6 rue de Fourcy, 75004 Paris (metro Saint-Paul, line 1 or Pont-Marie, line 7) -FAUCONNIER : 11 rue du Fauconnier, 75004 Paris (metro Saint-Paul, line 1 or Pont-Marie, line 7) -MAUBUISSON : 12 rue des Barres, 75004 Paris (metro Hôtel-de-Ville, lines 1 and 11) From the airports : From Roissy Charles de Gaulle : take the RER B. From Orly : take the Orlyval, then the RER B. Next, get off at Châtelet-les-Halles and take metro line 1, Chateau-de-Vincennes direction. We do not have a shuttle service from airports or stations.

What are the rooms like ?

We have single rooms up to rooms for 10, sometimes with bunk beds. There are showers and sinks in every room, the toilets are in each corridor. We provide sheets and blankets but not towels. There are neither televisions nor telephones inside the rooms. There are no double beds, single beds only.

Can I arrive late ?

Yes but if you arrive after noon you have to reconfirm your reservation the day before or the morning of your arrival day. The hostel are closed between 1 am and 7 am.

What are your rates ?

- Single room: 52 € (per room) 
- Twin room: 76 € (per room) 
- Triple room: per person : 34 € 
- Room for 4 and more : per person: 32 € 
- Breakfast is included. 
- MIJE membership card compulsory: 2,50 € per person for the current year.

Do I have to put down a deposit ?

No, we ask that youp ay on the day of arrival directly at the reception.

What payment methods are accepted ?

We accept cash (in euro), French cheques, travellers cheques (in euro) and credit cards. A valid ID card will be asked or a passport, neither student card nor driving licence are accepted.

Can I go in a room with a wheelchair ?

Unfortunately, our old mansions did not make it possible for us to obtain the authorization for accommodation of physically handicapped persons.

Is there a child or student discount ?

No, our rates are the same for every age group.

Is there a group rate ?

Yes, for groups of 10 or more (compulsory half-board). Please call us at (33) 1 42 74 23 45 and ask for group reservations.

Is there an age limit ?

Children under 6 years old cannot stay in our hostels. Minors must present a written parental authorisation with photocopy of their parents I.D.

What time are the rooms available ?

The rooms are available at 3pm when they have cleaned. Checkout is at 12 noon the day of your departure.

Do you have lockers ?

Yes, we also have a luggage room at each hostel.

Are long-term stays possible ?

No, your stay is limited to 7 consecutive nights, even when divided amongst our 3 hostels.

Do you have a restaurant ?

Yes, our restaurant at the Fourcy branch is open every week day for lunch and dinner. There are set price menus at 8.50 euro and 10.50 euro. No advance reservation is necessary : buy your meal coupons directly at the reception of your MIJE hostel.

Are there kitchen facilities ?

No, there is no open kitchen and you are not allowed to cook in your room.

Are there any smoking rooms ?

No, cigarettes (and alcohol) are forbidden in our hostels, including open air zones, in accordance with the French law. Smoking out the window is also prohibited: our smoke detectors are very sensitive and this could set off the fire alarm. It is however possible to smoke in the courtyard at Fourcy or the terrace at Fauconnier.

I am travelling by car, do you have any parking spaces ?

We don’t have a car park and it is quite difficult to find a parking spot in the area. There is however an underground car park (paid) close by (approximately 20 euro per days).

Can I bring any dog with me ?

No, sorry, pets are not accepted in our hostels.

Is there a cyber cafe nearby ?

Each one of our hostels has internet access and WIFI.
